Recognizing that pervasive electronic commerce applications are transforming business processes and applications, the Office of the Chief Financial Officer convened a Working Group on E-Business and Technology to address all non-academic areas. This Group's charge was to evaluate our current use of e-business, understand the relevant e-business opportunities, recommend a strategy to guide the University, recommend a tactical plan to implement the strategy, and ensure appropriate interfaces with academic administration.
As a result of the Working Group's report and approval by Senior Administration, a Resource Group was established to fulfill the charge outlined in the Report. The Resource Group's charges include: reviewing all e-business proposals referred to it, establishing mechanisms to communicate useful discoveries to the University community, and reviewing the process after 6 months and periodically thereafter.
The mission of the E-Business Resource Group (EBRG) now includes approving all card processing activities as well as providing a resource to the University community for guidance on PCI DSS related matters.
